I found myself on Google StreetView (which just launched today for some major cities in Germany)

I’m quite well recognizable if you know me: my (old, this is 2008) bicycle has this quite unique shape with the up-bent middle bar. At that time, the saddle was damaged, so it has tape on it. And I was wearing this black flat cap all the time back then. The T-Shirt probably says tor.eff.org on it, along with an Onion … and I can fix the date: it must have been the July 10 2008

If you wonder how I found myself: I used this great search engine called “brain memory”. When I picked up my thesis from binding (I was heading to hand in my final thesis, that somewhat makes the day special, doesn’t it?) I saw the Google car. And obviously, I also remember where I had my thesis bound. So all I needed was to type in the address and see if they used the footage.

On a side note, it’s interesting to see how many people let themselves be scared into getting their houses blurred by the politicians. Google StreetView is to German politics what terrorists are to the US: a campaign.
