Waiting for a new ship-in-box from IBM - the previous one was left in a puddle at our house by DHL and the cardboard peels apart. Thanks DHL…

I’ve been playing around a bit with the screen corruption, which definitely has gotten a lot worse recently. It’s like every eigth pixel (in that checkerboard pattern) on my screen has the highmost blue bit set now. But since it is flickerin when I bump against the table or move it around on my lap, I of course tried to influence it intentionally.

Well, if you are bored, you can now watch Screen corruption TV episode #1 (7 MB) and Screen corruption TV episode #2 (5 MB).

My laptop has these convenient finger-cavities there. Only three of them, and when you use them for your fingers you block your line-in, -out and microphone jacks. But when I carefully lift my Thinkpad there, the effect disappears!

(this is with the extra battery removed from the slot)

But I somehow believe that is not what they are made for, so I’m still going to send in my laptop, as soon as I get a container that doesn’t look like this:

P.S. I just re-added my secondary battery into the left slot - and guess what, the effect is completely gone currently. But I fear it will come back once I move the machine again - currently it is placed on a sturdy table.

P.P.S. I just removed the battery - scrreen corruption is not yet back Not that I’m unhappy, but this is odd. Even taking the notebook on my lap and rocking it slightly hasn’t made the effect come back.
