I’ve been a happy software suspend 2 user for a long time now. Quality of these patches has been varying, always struggling to keep up with recent changes in the kernel (I can remember both ALSA and ACPI breaking swsusp some time or another, as the ongoing changes in normal 2.6 development) but if you just stick to a working kernel you’ll be fine.

Currently after resuming everything works (didn’t test firewire, which had problems before, but I’ve also found a workaround for that, fake hotplugging) and I’ve not had a failure on resume with 2.6.11-rc3 + swsusp 2.1.6 yet. I havn’t had many resume cycles yet though.

But since 2.6.11-rc2 or maybe xorg I’ve seen some other odd bug:

Screen corruption in dark areas. Weird.
