Debian installer is great
I recently installed debian sarge on a couple of machines. In total it worked great, just a minor couple of glitches
-
on Dell Inspiron 8100, i had to set the “no pcmcia” option or it hang
-
on earlier testing-candidate 1, SoftwareRaid-Installation was broken. Now i can install onto software raid, but it only mounted my first partition after boot. I tired around with mdadm; but i don’t know if i fixed it by rewriting my volume headers with mdadm or by using a new kernel with raid1 built-in.

debian-installer needs support for installation over Cisco xauth. Because that is the easiest internet connection i can get at the university. It would be damn cool to have “vpnc” support in d-i. Of course it would be very important for consumers to have centrino support… :-(
